Emergency Department

The Department of Accident and Emergency at VEMH provides comprehensive Emergency services to patients. The department is run by a group of consultants from various departments, such as Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon, Intensivist, Anaesthetist, General Surgeon, Obstetrician, Paediatrician and Pulmonologist dedicated in resuscitation and stabilization of patients in acute and gravely sick conditions. The main goal of the department is timely standardized care and to reduce mortality and morbidity of patients.

The department is equipped to handle all kinds of emergencies, such as Trauma, Heart Attacks, Stroke, Poly Trauma, Poison, Respiratory failures, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), Multi organ failures, etc.

The department also manages mass casualties and disasters.
